R-DEC, in collaboration with AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), has developed a new "UHV Compatible High-Precision Goniohead with 5-axis Stage and Sample Cooling function" for simultaneous pursuit of sample cooling at Cryogenic Temperature (below 10K) & 5-axis manipulation (XYZ, flip, and in-plane rotation) of the sample under UHV conditions.

Features:

• Head part is made out of nonmagnetic material.
• It is operable under ultra high vacuum (UHV) conditions.
• It is exchangeable with user's existing manipulator
   due to its compact design.
• Sample exchange under UHV is allowed although it
   is a low-temperature device.
• Two Gonio-head types are available as per user's
   purposes.
• Combining with XYZ stage and/or a rotary platform
   enables up to six-axis manipulation. (Motor-driven
   available)

System Upgrade:

Various options and custom parts are available for this system since it was developed for the purpose of supporting researchers in R&D fields.

• Sample can be completely insulated.
• Temperature adjustment between the cryogenic temperature and the room temperature
is allowed using temperature control heater.
• A sample heating mechanism can be added on.
• Custom angular range and/or two sample holders (fixed and movable) are available.
