The PICO-RHEED set consists of a "Low Emission type RHEED" and a "Micro Channel Plate (MCP) screen," which reduces the damage to a sample from the E-beam.  Yet, the diffraction image on the fluorescent screen is bright and clear.
This would be useful for those who study and analyze the growth of organic thin films.
